Makoto 23yr Single Grain Japanese Whisky
Several Japanese whisky distilleries have produced legendary lines of whisky bottles, and Bushido Series is one of them. This unique collection features 7 bottles from different distilleries and represent each of the Bushido Virtues. Each bottle has its own original Virtue label and they each have their own one-of-a-kind, luscious flavors that make them even more irresistible.
In Bushido, the unwritten Samurai code of conduct, Makoto is the principle that represents Honesty and Sincerity. Guided by Makoto, the warrior seeks consistency between words and deeds. This whisky was crafted with the virtue of Makoto as inspiration.
Crafted at the Kumesen Distillery in Okinawa Japan in 1995, this Single Grain Whisky was aged for 23 years in ex-bourbon casks, resulting in a complex and unique flavor profile. Notes of ginger and spice are complimented by woody undertones, while distant hints of buttery caramel add a touch of sweetness. Dark chocolate and cinnamon give way to a burst of tangy lemon candy and a smooth, melted caramel finish. The lingering sweetness is accentuated by notes of licorice, reminiscent of the initial dark chocolate flavor.
